Levest isn’t available in Ireland, but there are many free alternatives, if you’re eligible.
Eligibility criteria for free contraception:
Requirement 1.
You’re a person with a uterus.
Requirement 2.
You’re aged between 17 and 35.
Requirement 3.
You’re living in Rep. of Ireland.
Requirement 4.
You’ve a PPS number (PPSN).

Levest is a combined oral contraceptive pill containing two hormones—ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel—that help prevent pregnancy when taken correctly.

It works by stopping ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to block sperm and altering the womb lining to prevent a fertilised egg from implanting.

Take one pill at the same time each day for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break. During the break, you'll usually have a withdrawal bleed similar to a period.

If you miss one pill, take it as soon as you remember and continue as normal. Missing more than one may reduce effectiveness—follow the leaflet guidance or speak to us.
