Lizinna is a combined contraceptive pill that helps prevent pregnancy.
Lizinna isn’t available in Ireland, but there are many free alternatives, if you’re eligible.
Eligibility criteria for free contraception:
Requirement 1.
You’re a person with a uterus.
Requirement 2.
You’re aged between 17 and 35.
Requirement 3.
You’re living in Rep. of Ireland.
Requirement 4.
You’ve a PPS number (PPSN).

Lizinna is a combined oral contraceptive pill containing two hormones—ethinylestradiol and norgestimate—that help prevent pregnancy when taken correctly.

It works by stopping ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to block sperm and thinning the womb lining to reduce the chance of implantation.

Take one pill at the same time each day for 21 days, followed by a seven-day break. During the break, you’ll usually have a withdrawal bleed.

If you miss one pill, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s more than 12 hours late or you’ve missed more than one, follow the instructions in the leaflet and use extra protection if needed.

Yes, for some users, Lizinna can improve skin by regulating hormones that contribute to acne. Results vary from person to person.

No, it doesn’t offer any protection against STIs. Use condoms for safer sex and protection from infections.

It’s best to start on the first day of your period for immediate protection. Starting later may require additional contraception for the first seven days.
