Eligibility criteria for free contraception:

Requirement 1.

You’re a person with a uterus.

Requirement 2.

You’re aged between 17 and 35.

Requirement 3.

You’re living in Rep. of Ireland.

Requirement 4.

You’ve a PPS number (PPSN).

  • Yasminelle is a combined oral contraceptive pill taken to prevent pregnancy. It may also help regulate periods, reduce acne and ease menstrual discomfort.

  • Yasminelle contains two hormones that stop ovulation, thicken cervical mucus and alter the womb lining, making it harder for sperm to reach an egg.

  • Take one pill at the same time each day for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break. During the break, you’ll usually have a withdrawal bleed similar to a period.

  • If you miss one pill, take it as soon as you remember and continue as normal. Missing two or more can reduce protection, so follow the leaflet's advice or speak to us.

  • Yes, for some women, the hormone combination in Yasminelle can improve skin by reducing oil production and hormone fluctuations.

  • Some users may experience headaches, mood changes, breast tenderness or nausea, especially in the first few months. Most side effects are mild and settle over time.

  • Yasminelle may not be suitable if you have a history of blood clots, migraines with aura, certain heart conditions or if you smoke and are over 35. Always check with us first.

  • No, Yasminelle does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Use condoms for protection against STIs.
