Eligibility criteria for free contraception:
Requirement 1.
You’re a person with a uterus.
Requirement 2.
You’re aged between 17 and 35.
Requirement 3.
You’re living in Rep. of Ireland.
Requirement 4.
You’ve a PPS number (PPSN).

Zoely is a combined oral contraceptive pill that contains two hormones: nomegestrol acetate and oestradiol. It works by preventing ovulation, thickening cervical mucus and altering the womb lining to help stop pregnancy.

When taken as directed, Zoely is over 99% effective. Missing pills, vomiting or diarrhoea shortly after taking a pill can reduce its effectiveness.

Zoely uses a hormone similar to natural oestrogen, which may reduce the risk of side effects like mood swings and bloating often linked with synthetic versions.

Zoely is not usually recommended during breastfeeding, as it may affect milk production. Speak with us about safer alternatives during this time.

Possible side effects include headaches, breast tenderness, nausea and mood changes. Most are mild and settle within a few months. Serious effects are rare but should be discussed with us.

No break is needed unless advised by a doctor. Zoely is designed for long-term use if tolerated well and no medical concerns arise.
